We cordially invite you to take part in the International Section of the V Congress on Polish Language and Literature Teaching, which follows on four previous congresses, held at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (2019), Lublin Catholic University (2017), The University of Silesia in Katowice (2015) and the Jagiellonian University in Kraków (2013).

On this occasion we invite you to the north, to Gdańsk. The V Congress on Language and Literature Teaching, which will take place on 19 to 22 October, 2022, is organized by the Institute of Polish Studies of Gdańsk University. The leading theme chosen for this year’s Congress,

almost automatically suggests itself as appropriate in the setting of the Tricity’s rich history. The organizers wish both to allude to Gdańsk’s tradition of freedom and to open a space for reflection on the idea of solidarity in a broader perspective – one which might offer hope of overcoming the divisions that are currently deepening in society, including value-laden hierarchisations with their associated assent to attitudes of superiority, exclusion and even overt or covert contempt.
